With the summer weather lingering on, winter school sport will hopefully benefit from a good kick off across the country. Terms 2 and 3 are the biggest for school sport with the largest codes, Netball, Basketball, Rugby and Football all in full swing and culminating in over 30,000 students participating in Winter Tournament Week at the end of August.

There are a number of events and programmes, some of which are highlighted in this newsletter that principals, Sport Directors and Co-ordinators need to be aware of including;

• NZ Teachers Games, not to be missed in Mt Manganui in early October – details coming early in term 2,

• FREE Good Clean Sport Youth workshops for your athletes, teams and classes – see article below,
• FREE Character Development Video modules for your rugby teams from NZ Rugby Players Association and School Sport NZ – see article below.
