Secondary Schools Sport Conference 2024


Plans are coming together for the 2024 National School Sport Conference in just a few weeks’ time!  We’ve put together an engaging and insightful programme, and we're pleased to share some important updates with you.  We have over 400 already registered for the Conference.   The good news is you can still register if you haven’t already.  Please click here to register.  Please read on for some additional information. 

Mihi Whakatau

  • Start Time: 8:45 am on Monday, 16th September.
  • Location: Tāwhirimātea (main plenary room).
  • Details: Delegates will receive a briefing on local mihi whakatau protocols. Words to a waiata will be displayed on the AV screen for your reference.

Conference APP

  • Availability: The conference APP, which will include the programme, speaker bios, and trade display details, will be available for download by 9th September. You will receive a link from the conference organisers.
  • Importance: This APP will also serve as our primary communication tool during the conference, so please ensure everyone has access.

The Programme

  • Final Programme: Will be available on the conference APP. Please download it to your phone for up-to-date details on sessions and speaker bios.

Dinner Arrangements: ‘Your Olympic Dream’

  • Time: 7:00 pm – 10:45 pm (approx.), Tāwhirimātea room at Tākina.
  • Theme: “Your Olympic Dream” – Come dressed as your favourite athlete, sport, or team. Get creative and start planning your attire! Delegates will receive a complimentary drink on arrival, with a cash bar (eftpos) for the rest of the evening. Entertainment is also on the agenda for a fun-filled night.

Bag Storage

  • Availability: A room will be designated for bag storage on Day Two.

Transport to and from the Airport

  • Responsibility: Delegates are responsible for their own transport. Options include UBER or the airport express bus, which is a short walk from the conference venue.

Parking at Tākina

  • Details: There is a large car park across the road from Tākina. For tariffs and a map, please visit Parking Information.
