We want to congratulate the team at Ironman NZ for all their hardwork and persistence to change the date of their event. We know what a massive commitment it is to reschedule the huge event with multiple stakeholders and contractors as well as thousands of athletes, but they have pulled it off and we are so thrilled from them!
We are looking forward to seeing the action unfold and so happy for our passionate community, that they get to go out there and compete after all their long hours! Kia Kaha. |

Meet Billy Bowman, the 24 year old triathlete from Helensville. His mission is to travel the length of the New Zealand on a 90-day multisport pilgrimage, swimming, running, biking and kayaking the 6000km!
He starts his epic journey on the 14th March and would love some company. This is where we thought our community could help. Here is his itinerary which shows you where he will be when and you can follow him on his Facebook and Instagram channels for updates.
Now you are asking yourself why is he doing this? Well he has a few reasons, which we love. He wants to unite the multisport community across the country while travelling through their region. This is part of the reason he would love you to join him for a run, ride or swim. He wants to showcase our wonderful National Parks, DoC maintained trails and traverse our nation in the rawest form, by human power. And most of all, he wants to inspire kiwis to explore and do something new. We love it and hope you will want to follow his journey too! |

| AGE-GROUP QUALIFIERS AND ULTIMATE CHAMPION |
|

After an incredibly busy month of racing across New Zealand with a few Covid-19 Alert Level changes thrown in we are closing in on the end of the season. Here is an update on the Age-Group Qualifying for World Triathlon Championships and the Ultimate Series Points.
Age-Group Qualifying We appreciate that attending the World Championships this year is unlikely but we would still encourage you to submit your Nomination Form, Special Circumstances Form or Validation Form to ensure you are selected for the team. You can find links to all these forms and more here. Why you ask? - A decision will be made in April 2021 in regard to Triathlon NZ's ability to send an Age-Group team to the World Championships. If we are unable to do this we have a few ideas we are working on that may available to those that have qualified.
- An alternative Trans-Tasman competition with the Australian Qualifiers
- A NZ Age-Group camp within New Zealand
- and other exciting options
- Its about bragging rights, not everyone can say they were part of the Age-Group National Team and if you are about seeking sponsorship it will help
Ultimate Series Champion Keep an eye out on our website the current points for each event are up and the leaderboard will be updated soon. The Tri NZ Ultimate Series Champion in each gender and age-group will receive exclusive Ultimate Series Champion merchandise - see more details here. |
